Burgundy - Beaune, France

An Unforgettable Taste of Burgundy

Burgundy, France

This is a truly special Grand Cru trip, designed to give you the ultimate in culinary, wine and sightseeing experiences in hard-to-access Burgundy. The elegant walled city of Beaune is our home for 4 days as we explore the Côtes de Beaune and Côte de Nuits areas, visiting at least 4-5 Burgundy domains. Beaune is the capital of Burgundy wines and justly famous for its world-renowned producers and the surrounding wine villages that comprise the Burgundy “terroir". The region also has exquisite cheeses, restaurants and amazing historical sites, all situated in Beaune and the fairytale-like villages that surround it.

Wendy’s extensive network of top winemakers, chefs, local gourmet producers and cultural dignitaries are ready to welcome her travelers as Bliss Insiders — all wine tastings on this trip are private and all menus are custom, by top chefs in the region.

We will travel by private car and driver throughout this serenely beautiful region to taste a wide variety of Burgundy’s best wines on the “Route des Grand Crus” ranging from the breathtaking 12th century castle of Clos de Vougeot, to the hyper-local “monopoles" from tiny domains. Bliss Travels’ philosophy is to offer a range of tasting experiences — from that famous “bucket list wine” you always wanted to try, to that small producer you’ve never heard (but wished you had)! You will taste some of the most famous wines in the world (that you can also find in the US -but at a very high cost) and taste wines you’ll never taste again — at any price — because they are so rare or production is so small that our bottle is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This is the trip that no wine or food lover should miss. Let Wendy and her team share their passion and knowledge of the splendor of Burgundy with you.

Trip Pairings

We recommend pairing this trip with:
Provence for the Harvest: September 27 - October 2, 2024

What was special about the trip were your connections with everyone there and the fact that we were able to experience restaurants, lodging and other activities that would not be available to us. Thanks again for a wonderful trip. We had an unforgettable time
— A.O.

Bliss itineraries are different

Our itineraries continually evolve, because we are always looking for new and unique things to see, do and taste! We tailor our trips to the travelers attending, and select events to best fit their preferences.

What you see below is our best representation - before the trip is booked and we begin getting to know you - of what you can always expect from Bliss, with some of our most popular events, menus and venues from past trips. Every Bliss trip includes our own “Insider” excursions and events — an exclusive wine-tasting, multi-course chef meals, curated wine pairings, and excursions to must-see sites hosted by a private guide — but some of the dates and details may change. Providing Bliss-only access to our private venues means we sometimes have to work around our hosts’ schedules. Which is why we keep our trips relaxed and leisurely!

I was worried that our second trip (Burgundy) would not be as good as the first (to Provence) but WOW it was truly something special. I have never tasted such good wine! And Wendy’s ability to get us in to places no one else gets to was outstanding. I appreciate your personal attention to detail and your ability to make it feel like we are traveling with friends-which we are now. Bordeaux Next!

I had the most wonderful trip to Burgundy with you and Bliss Travels last September. As a former head of the Bordeaux wine society in Washington, DC, but a great lover of Burgundies, I can tell you that all of my expectations were exceeded, from the pre-Burgundy days in Paris , during which I experienced things I had not, despite living in Paris for almost 5 years, to the Burgundy Adventure - including where we stayed, the tours, both of Beaune and the chateaux, the teaching sessions, and the meals (Ah, the meals!) it was the best vacation of its type I had ever taken.
